If you’re a wedding coordinator, celebrating is something that you do very well. As we fret over flowers, tweak tiaras and check that each napkin is in place, every wedding we create is a joyful occasion that honours the love and commitment of two special individuals. This month we’re excited to have even more reason to bring out the bubbly. With over 250 successful weddings behind us and many more ahead, we’re delighted to introduce the 50th edition of our Latest Three newsletter. Beautifully revamped and packed with information, it’s a proud showcase of our most recent work and an indispensable source of wedding advice and inspiration. Be dazzled by some our favourite weddings of all time, find out what’s got tongues wagging in our offices and be treated to invaluable insider information.
Keeping in the festive spirit, we’ve also immersed ourselves into a flurry of activity as preparations for the new season begin. Not only are flower mocks and food tastings in full swing, we’re also coordinating the itineraries of foreign clients that extend well into April!
Hard work, of course, always gets noticed, and we’re excited to be featured in several local and international publications, including Wedding UK, Wedding Album, Sarie Bruid and Fair Lady Bride. Aleit is also proud to be Top Billing's wedding expert. Be sure to visit www.topbilling.com to see some gorgeous trends and be inspired by some exquisite weddings. If you register on the site, you'll also have the opportunity to participate in a live online chat with Aleit once a week and have all your wedding questions answered.
Here’s to a season of wonderful celebrations.

We’re thrilled to hear that the roof of the new Green Point Stadium in Cape Town will be delivered from Kuwait next month. According to Peter Cronje, the city’s World Cup communications director, planning for the 68 000 seater stadium is well on track. The impressive structure is part of a major urban renewal project and is set to host several World Cup matches, including a semi-final. We’ve already experienced a remarkable increase in interest brought on by this major event and can’t wait to see what more opportunities it will present.

It’s the social custom for the wife to adopt the family name or surname of her husband, together with the designation “Mrs”. Legally, however, the wife is not obliged to do so and may either use her maiden name or any other surname she bore before her marriage. Women who belong to a profession often find that it is advantageous to retain their maiden name. The husband is not permitted to take his wife’s surname, except after application to the Director-General of Home Affairs. As for the surnames of children, the notice of birth shall either be given under the surname of the father or the mother, or the surnames of both parents joined as a double-barrelled surname.

“If there’s one thing I can’t abide, it’s waitrons not dressing the part. It really is so important for them to look elegant, and good English should never be rated as an extra. Table cloths that don’t hang perfectly are also inexcusable, as are glasses and cutlery that aren’t uniformly aligned. Yes, these are aesthetic extras, but neglecting them can ruin an otherwise flawless occasion.”

The vows have been made, the ring is on your finger and everybody’s ready to celebrate. To really liven up pre-reception drinks, you can’t go wrong with a jazz duo. Vibrant and versatile, the smooth sounds of a saxophone and guitar can capture anything from classical jazz to popular contemporary music. The wow factor? Watch the duo create an irresistibly lively and upbeat mood as they weave through your guests while playing. |

Like your wedding, your honeymoon should really be about what you enjoy. Whether you want to discover a new country, explore the great outdoors or simply spend idle afternoons in lavish comfort, there are a host of extraordinary honeymoon destinations that cater to every whim and fancy. Here are three of our favourites, in association with Dream Destinations.
Ulusaba Game Lodge, Sabi Sabi
Owned by Sir Richard Branson, Ulusaba Game Lodge is a remarkable safari experience. Situated in 13 500 hectares of unspoilt bushveld, the lodge affords you the luxury of enjoying the sights, sounds and smells of Africa in five star comfort. We love that the rates include unlimited French Champagne!
Baros, Maldives
A stay at Baros is a rare privilege. As the sole hotel on a beautiful, palm fringed island, it is a truly exclusive destination and offers the definitive romantic island getaway. Go snorkelling, savour fine dining or simply immerse yourselves in the tranquillity of this private paradise.
Tubkaak Boutique Resort, Thailand
This serene boutique hotel is located in Krabi on the Thai coastline, a region famed for its ethereal beauty. The luxurious villa style accommodation is marked by its stylish interiors and oriental bathrooms that open to the sky. A gourmet restaurant, pampering spa and tropical gardens with hammocks make Tubkaak the perfect place to unwind. |

We just loved planning Kerry McGregor and Neil McKenzie’s wedding. Held at Webersburg Estate, the couple wanted a simple but classy ambience, which was beautifully brought to life by a chic decor scheme punctuated with charcoal accents. With French jazz in the background, guests sat at tables laden with candles and snacked on sumptuous platters, a convivial and intimate approach to the dining experience. Kerry looked exquisite in a Vera Wang dress and her bouquet was pure understated elegance - a simple mix of indigenous grasses and white orchids.

“If there’s one thing that always keeps me busy on the big day, it’s dresses, dresses and more dresses! They’re long, lacy and heavy, so it’s no wonder that they easily get torn. I have to be ready to come to rescue with my magic toolbox of pins and needles. After a stitch or two my brides are ready to party the night away with their dresses in tact... or something along those lines!” |

Let’s face it; all brides at Aleit Weddings have got style. Here are three gorgeous dresses that recently caught our eye. Guess which dress is Vera Wang? |
